The progressive closure of nuclear power plants in Spain is an inescapable fact that transcends the question of nuclear energy, yes or no, and must be tackled responsibly as soon as possible. In the next decade all licenses for the exploitation of nuclear power plants will expire, the last one of the Trillo nuclear power plant in Guadalajara in 2024.

In the next decade, all the operating licenses will expire, the last one of the Trillo nuclear power plant in Guadalajara in 2024. The Spanish power stations would therefore have an average useful life of 38 years.
