Project Description

Women with disabilities are subject to multiple or aggravated forms of discrimination on thebasis of gender and disability. This situation can interact with other strands such as age, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, etc. As result of this multiple discrimination in the access to employment, women with disabilities experience low activity and employment rates and more precarious conditions than both men with disabilities and women without them. The employment situation of women with disabilities in Spain, compared to EU28, reflects lower employment rates and higher rates of unemployment and inactivity. However, these results are partially determined by the country context. The disability gaps in employment, unemployment and inactivity rates are similar to those in EU28. However, the gender gap is significantly higher in Spain, especially in relation to employment and inactivity rates.
